Massive Attack Postpones ‘Mezzanine’ Anniversary Shows Due to Illness
Massive Attack took to social media today (March 8) to announce the postponement of their North American Mezzanine anniversary tour.
Massive Attack took to social media Friday (March 8) to announce the postponement of their North American Mezzanine anniversary tour. The British group said the forced postponement was due to illness and that all dates will be rescheduled for the fall.
“We regret to announce that the upcoming Mezzanine XXI shows in the USA and Canada have been postponed due to illness,” the group posted on Facebook. “The shows will be rescheduled for this fall, with a full announcement to be made on Thursday March 14th. All current tickets will be valid for the new dates.”
The band added: “The band are deeply sorry for any inconvenience and are looking forward to bringing the show to the USA and Canada soon.”
Massive Attack was scheduled to hit the road on March 11 in Montreal in celebration of their 1998 album Mezzanine. Described as the band’s “own personalised nostalgia nightmare head trip” by member Robert Del Naja, the tour launched in the U.K. and Europe in January and closed out those dates on March 1.
