ROZES has debuted the empowering anthem “Halfway There (GRL PWR)” — with the help of friends from Marian Hill, MisterWives and SHAED — premiering exclusively on Billboard today (March 7).
The uplifting pop ballad features Marian Hill’s Samantha Gongol, MisterWives’ Mandy Lee and SHAED’s Chelsea Lee lending their vocals for the powerful chorus. “We’re already halfway there/ Are we gonna finish what we started, or just leave it here?/ ‘Cause the fight ain’t fair, if we’re hanging onto something/ Only halfway there,” they sing.

The updated version follows the release of ROZES’ original track back in January, which was used as the anthem for this year’s Women’s March on NYC. ROZES tells Billboard that the song stems from the “fighter” in her, adding that she’s happy to collaborate with fellow Photo Finish Records artists.
“We as women face many obstacles in the workforce. It is so amazing being able to team up with my Photo Finish sisters for this alternate version of ‘Halfway There,’” she says. “For them to offer their amazing talents and stand with me in this fight feels like the support all of us women need. As the saying goes, ‘Empowered Women Empower Women.’ We must continue to support and build each other up. There is room here for all of us.”

The song also honors International Women’s Day (March 8), and Chelsea Lee explains that the song is a way to celebrate all women. “Although women should be appreciated and respected each and every day, International Women’s Day encourages us all to come together and celebrate each other; a day where women are recognized for their strength, beauty, and accomplishments,” Lee says.
Gongol mirrors Lee’s sentiments, adding that she was honored to join her fellow singer-songwriters on “Halfway There.” “International Women’s Day is a call to action, a celebration of accomplishment, and an acknowledgment of the challenges that women around the world still face,” Gongol says. “I don’t often get to sing with three insanely talented women, but joining Mandy and Chelsea on Liz’s song felt like our own tribute. I’m honored to be one small voice amongst a rapidly growing choir. And we had so much fun singing it.”
Mandy Lee also tells Billboard the importance of honoring women every day. “Women’s day (isn’t that everyday?) is a time to honor and celebrate all the brave trailblazing women before us, after us and those all around us who have paved the way for girls and women to be heard, to be seen, to be bold, to be proud and to be all things they believe they can be without someone saying they cannot,” she states. “It’s not just a day, it is a momentous movement that reminds us how far we have come and how much further we will go.”
