Kanye West

Kanye West was born in Atlanta and raised in Chicago. His birthday is June 8, 1977, and his height is 5'8". He began his career by producing music for local artists, and eventually started producing musicians on Jay-Z, Damon Dash and Kareem Burke's Roc-a-Fella Records in 2000, before signing on as an artist himself. He released 'The College Dropout,' his debut studio album, in 2004; the album peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. The set's first single, "Through the Wire," peaked at No. 15 on the Hot 100. 2005's 'Late Registration' became his first No. 1 album, while "Slow Jamz" -- his collab with Twista and Jamie Foxx off his debut album -- was his first Hot 100 chart-topper, arriving on the tally in December 2003. Ye would go on to have many more No. 1s on both charts, including 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy,' 'Yeezus' and 'Watch the Throne' (a collaborative album with Jay-Z) on the Billboard 200, while "Gold Digger" with Foxx and "E.T." with Katy Perry would become two of his biggest No. 1 singles. Besides his numerous collaborations with Jay-Z, Ye also worked across genres with Rihanna, T-Pain, Drake, Paul McCartney, John Legend, Adam Levine, Bon Iver, Alicia Keys and many others. Kanye has many Grammys under his belt, including multiple best rap album wins, and best contemporary Christian music album for 'Jesus Is King.' In October 2021, he legally changed his name to Ye.
