After eight years of seeing our favorite characters defeat their enemies and preparing for the fight for the Iron Throne, the watch has officially ended. Game of Thrones aired its series finale on HBO last night (May 19), putting a bow on a monumental era in pop culture.
But as great as the series was throughout the years, the final season gave way to much divisive commentary from both diehard fans and celebrities alike. Naturally, the last episode sparked an endless stream of social media reactions that ranged from disappointment to satisfaction. “So Bran gets to be king, despite the fact that he just put his name on the group project and didn’t do any work. #DemThrones,” sports journalist Jemele Hill tweeted.
On the other hand, T-Pain felt a little more sentimental about the show’s end. “Thank you guys for all the hard work and dedication to Game of Thrones,” he tweeted with a photo of the cast. “All the time spent away from your families and loved ones. All the shit we give you for just trying to please us all. Until next time.”

Sansa Stark, cause she ain’t a little bird no more. She’s comin’ 4 that crown & Snow doesn’t want it & he is in love with a Dragon goddess turned straight up psychopath. & Daenerys was dead as soon as Arya witnessed the mother & daughter get burned alive. Yep. Bye bye Dragon Lady. https://t.co/XZjhw0rGUg

My theory:
Sansa ends up on the Iron Throne
Arya becomes the hand of the Queen
Daenerys kills Jon Snow
Arya kills Daenerys
Tyrion continues to sh–t the bed
And I miss all of it because I’m traveling. #gameofthrones @SophieT pic.twitter.com/VxQxkzH6Ah— Jessica Chastain (@jes_chastain) May 19, 2019
