Sometimes it helps to have friends who are good with big words. That’s what the gang on the Apple+ children’s show The Helpsters learn when The National singer Matt Berninger stops by to help the puppety Sesame Street spin-off crew (focused on coding and technology) learn how to pronounce brain busters like sesquipedalian and alphabetically.
As he cues up beatboxing and other percussive sounds from Mr. Primm, Heart, Scatter and Cody, Berninger takes the center spot in the colorful video, during which he raps about the beauty of words that will blow up your Scrabble score. “I like long words, I like to recite ’em/ I like all the pages and pages it takes to write ’em,” he amiably rhymes. “So whenver I want to talk about the ABCs/ I use a long word like ‘alphabetically.'”
Berninger isn’t the first star to pop into the show so far, following on the heels of such guests as SNL‘s Vanessa Bayer, Alan Cumming, John Hodgman, Talib Kweli, Christina Perri and Amber Tamblyn.
