Bizarrap’s Best Music Sessions, Ranked: Critics’ Picks

Peluso and Biza joined forces in a proper collaboration that entertained everyone during the pandemic lockdown. Released in the fall of 2020, this music session quickly became a viral sensation on social media, especially for Peluso’s infectious refrain – “I’m a nasty girl fantastic/ This ass is natural, not plastic/ What I play I make bombastic/ All those giles, I chew my ass off” – which generated a whole new legion of fans for both Argentine stars.

Nicky Jam became only the second Puerto Rican artist, following Eladio Carrion, to form part of Biza’s successful “music sessions.” In a less than three-minute freestyle, where he simply states why he’s the “king of the flow,” Nicky spits verses in both Spanish and English. The track kicks off as a rap song but transitions to a hard-hitting reggaeton with a catchy chorus that credits the producer: “Biza came through and it sounds amazing/ The baby approved it and she fell in love.”

The music session that no one saw coming. Bizarrap and Arcangel teamed up for an epic session released March 22 that delivered a show-stopping performance. The Puerto Rican artist spit fire and realness. Over an infectious house beat, Arcangel made sure to remind everyone that he started from the bottom and he’s now on top of the world. “I come from the hood,” he repeats. “My journey wasn’t easy … these trap artists are my kids, I was part of their childhood.”

The Puerto Rican wordsmith kicks off the session with a contemplative verse, delving into the introspective realms of her ascent. Against a dynamic electronic backdrop crafted by the Argentine maestro, the atmosphere intensifies, captivating listeners from the outset. Miko exudes an air of effortless cool as she narrates a brief yet extraordinary journey — steering a Bentley, jet skiing in Mallorca, and soaring first class to Spain. Amidst the braggadocio, she humbly acknowledges and expresses gratitude to those who have been by her side since day one.

Mexican-American rapper Snow Tha Product doesn’t hold back in this poignant music session where she reminds everyone of her “tremendous flow.” Providing a canvas to Snow’s fast-paced rap verses, the beat starts off slow but toward the end becomes a club banger that adequately matches Snow’s energy. “That’s why I’m on the throne and the seat’s amazing,” she declares. “I represent the community that is tired of rappers that don’t know how to rap.”

Argentine hitmaker Nicki Nicole was among the first to record a music session with the visionary producer. For Nicole’s soulful session, Biza allows her wide-ranging and sweet vocals to take the spotlight. Nicki Nicole is a solid rapper but we appreciate that this allowed her to shine as a vocalist.

Bizarrap’s music session with Peso Pluma was practically a hit even before it came out, and the anticipation of these two collaborating was worth the wait. The corrido-powered “BZRP Music Sessions #55” features Peso Pluma singing about heartbreak. “I’m still here, it’s been a few nights since I haven’t slept. I’m drunk, can’t lie to you, I hit up another girl when I realized I had lost you,” the Mexican rapper and singer laments over his signature corridos sound powered by requintos and trombones — marking the first time Bizarrap recorded Mexican music.

Before Shakira, there was Residente’s hard-hitting session in which he blasted J Balvin and the music industry in general. In his nearly 10-minute rap session — which is divided into three chapters — the Puerto Rican artist doesn’t hold back his bluntness, taking aim at managers who take credit for songwriting and J Balvin, among other topics.

Bizarrap’s session with Spanish act Quevedo, “BZRP Music Sessions #52,” scored both their first entry on the Billboard Hot 100. This club banger currently sits at more than 630 million views, one of Biza’s most-watched sessions overall.

After collaborating with a handful of artists such as Nicky Jam, Paulo Londra and Residente, Bizarrap recruited Shakira for his latest Music Session. In it, the Colombian star doesn’t hold back and is as blunt as ever about her ex, Spanish soccer star Gerard Piqué. “A she-wolf like me doesn’t have time for novices like you/ I was too much for you, that’s why you’re now with someone more like yourself,” she sings over a futuristic pop-electronica beat.

The dis track broke a handful of Guinness World Records and, when it dropped, held the title for most streamed Latin track on Spotify in 24 hours (14.4 million streams) and most viewed Latin track on YouTube in 24 hours (63 million views). It also won song of the year at the Latin Grammys.
