Vice Menta – “Granada”
Monterrey-born twin brothers Marcelo and Eugenio Garza are on a mission to change the game with their musical project, Vice Menta. At first, they hustled with their English-language covers, but soon realized that they have something magical up their sleeves as Spanish-speaking artists. Orishas continue making the rounds with their latest studio album Gourmet, a production that has 12 delicious entrees and many enticing collaborations, including “Muevelow,” the Cuban group’s new single featuring Norwegian duo, Madcon. The captivating and tropical rhythms found in “Muevelow” give us a five-minute taste of a real rumba and a good time. “Maitonome”- Tomas Diaz featuring El B, Lenia Díaz
Putting his AfroCuban roots in the forefront, legendary bandleader, singer-songwriter, and Latin GRAMMY nominee, Tomas Diaz is back with “Maitonome,” a tune which transcends the borders of his native country. In “Maitonome” Diaz, meshes Yoruba with rap in an ode to San Lázaro (also called Babalu Aye), the most venerated saint in Cuba, worshipped for centuries by AfroCubans. Featuring explosive raps by El B, one of the leading voices of the Latin hip-hop movement, with an unexpected appearance by Celia Cruz’ lead vocalist, Lenia Díaz, “Maitonomé” exhibits Diaz’ nimble vocal runs interfacing freely with the song’s varied formats.
