K-pop icons 2NE1 reunited in public for the first time in years on Friday (May 17) with a special live stream commemorating their 10th anniversary.
The girl group’s members CL, Minzy, Park Bom and Sandara Park took to Instagram live to celebrate a decade since their first performance of debut single “Fire” back in 2009. Released on May 6 of that year, the quartet performed the song for the first time on SBS’ Inkigayo weekly music show on May 17.
The foursome got together to have dinner and livestsreamed part of it, greeting fans with their catchphrase, “Wassup we 2NE1.” During the celebration, the members of 2NE1 ate cake, and later, the members posted pictures of themselves having fun and getting emotional on Instagram. They also all shared handwritten messages commemorating the anniversary.
One of the most prominent K-pop girl groups of the past decade, the act made history by becoming the first Korean act to break into the Top 100 of the Billboard 200 with the release of their Crush album in 2014.
