On Friday (Sept. 14), Ariana Grande broke her silence following the death of her ex, Mac Miller. The rapper was found dead in Los Angeles one week ago after suffering an apparent overdose.
Shortly after the shocking news broke, Grande posted a captionless black-and-white photo of the rapper, and now, she posted a touching video of the then-couple laughing with an emotional message attached.
“i adored you from the day i met you when i was nineteen and i always will,” Grande wrote. “i can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. i really can’t wrap my head around it.
“we talked about this. so many times,” she continues. “i’m so mad, i’m so sad i don’t know what to do. you were my dearest friend. for so long. above anything else.”
Grande ended the post by writing, “i’m so sorry i couldn’t fix or take your pain away. i really wanted to. the kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. i hope you’re okay now. rest.”
Grande and Miller dated for roughly two years before confirming their breakup in May.
