Columbia Records has signed Barry Gibb to a record deal and will release his second solo album in the Fall.
Entitled, In the Now, all songs were written by the last surviving member of the Bee Gees and his sons Stephen and Ashley and co-produced by Gibb himself with John Merchant.

“This is a dream come true for me,” Gibb said in a statement. “It’s a new chapter in my life. I always hoped one day that the Bee Gees would be with Columbia or indeed Sony so, it’s a great joy for me to start again this way with such great people.”
Gibb released his first solo album in 1984, although along the way he had a few false starts at other solo projects. The Hall of Fame inducted singer also produced and wrote music for other artists including Barbra Streisand, Dolly Parton and Dionne Warwick.

But Gibb is most renowned for his work with the Bee Gees, which have sold tens of millions of albums, most of which were released through Polydor and Atco. Nielsen Music alone, credit the band with 10.3 million album scans and 6.5 million track scans since its inception in 1991. “I will never forget my brothers, they will always be a part of everything I do,” Gibb said in a statement. The legendary artist returned to live performing in 2013-2014 with the Mythology Tour, which celebrated the Bee Gees anthology release.
