Attendees at President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ inauguration on Wednesday (Jan. 20) were serving looks.
Michelle Obama stunned in a burgundy monochromatic Sergio Hudson outfit, while First Lady Dr. Jill Biden opted for a sleek turquoise Markian tweed coat and newly inaugurated Harris wore a purple dress and jacket designed by Christopher John Rogers and Sergio Hudson.
However, one person’s look rose above them all. Senator Bernie Sanders kept it comfy and cozy in an olive-colored winter jacket and knitted mittens. In fact, he was wearing the same coat from that viral “I am once again asking” video (how many coats does one need, anyway?).
As expected, memes flooded the Internet, poking fun at Sanders’ casual outfit choice and grumpy expression at such a high-profile political event, and Photoshopping him seated at a number of hilarious locations.
