Tony Bennett has signed on to contribute a song to the “Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood” soundtrack, which, As previously reported, “Lovers Live” is a 13-track souvenir from Sade’s 2001 North American tour in support of “Lovers Rock.” An accompanying home video is due Feb. 19.
In other Epic online news, the label is sponsoring the “Language of Love” sweepstakes, with prizes including Sony electronics and recent albums from Sade, Mandy Moore, Celine Dion, Jennifer Lopez, Incubus, Travis, and Michael Jackson, among others. As part of the contest, Epic will on Friday offer the online premiere of the new Celine Dion single “A New Day Has Come,” the title cut from her March 26 Columbia release. Shawn Colvin, Joan Osborne, Deep Blue Something, and Matthew Andrae and the International Children’s Choir of Utah will take part in WorldSong 2002 – The Next Country Over, a Feb. 21 concert to promote world peace and harmony. The concert will take place at the McKay Event Center on the Utah Valley State College Campus in Orem, Utah. Tickets are available online at tickets.com or 1-888-844-7469.“The overall objective of the WorldSong initiative is to promote peace around the world by using music as a driving force to raise a greater awareness and appreciation of diverse world cultures,” WorldSong Entertainment CEO Todd Young said in a statement.
