Selena Gomez Cuts Pinks Horses from Music Video
After Selena Gomez was criticized for using pink-painted horses while filming the music video for “Love You Like a Love Song” last month, the tinted animals will no longer be seen in the final cut of the clip. One person who will be happy is Pink, who wrote on Twitter, “If there are any animal activists around Malibu-at Leo Cabrillo State Beach, there are horses being painted for a stupid music video,” while the clip was being filmed. Jane Lynch to Host Emmys
“Glee” star Jane Lynch has been confirmed as the host of the 2011 Emmy awards, which air Sept. 18 from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. Lynch took home an Emmy last year for her portrayal of Sue Sylvester on the hit Fox show. ( THR)
Pete Townshend Preps ‘Quadrophenia’ Box Set
Pete Townshend has announced that the Who‘s classic album “Quadrophenia” is receiving the box set treatment and will be reissued in October. “I am really enjoying this work,” Townshend, who is working with Bob Pridden and Jon Astley on the set, wrote in a blog post. “My demos are among the best I’ve ever done, and include some real quirky tracks that didn’t make it onto the final album.” ( The Who Official Site)
St. Vincent Releasing New Album, “Strange Mercy,” in September
Indie rock singer-guitarist Annie Clark, better known as St. Vincent, will release her third album, “Strange Mercy,” on Sept. 13 through 4AD. Produced by John Congleton, the new set will include tersely named tracks like “Cruel,” “Surgeon” and “Cheerleader.” ( Pitchfork)
