BoA’s back, and with her own self-penned song.
The K-pop star released “Feedback” on Tuesday (June 4) to usher in the season with its breezy pop vibes. Groovy and playful with a hint of a retro — a new jack swing melody and old-school synths bolsters featured rapper Nucksal — BoA’s breathy voice puts a refreshing spin on the summer dance track.
To match the lighthearted, invigorating feel of the song, BoA showcased her latest release through a cartoonish music video that sees the K-pop icon bolstered by a diverse crew of dancers as she asks for “Feedback” and plays coy, dancing in the clouds and chilling poolside amid animated sets. Leaning into the song’s throwback style, Nucksal’s rap arrives with some ’90s-feeling graphics and dance battles.
The song was co-written by Shaun Kim, and is BoA’s first single of 2019. It follows the release of her album Woman last October; that LP peaked at No. 11 on the World Albums chart upon its release.
