Demi Lovato is partnering with CAST to bring free mental health sessions to each of her upcoming tour dates.
In a press release, the CAST Foundation cited its mission to to make “mental health and addiction recovery mainstream and erasing the stigma around asking for help.” In order to do this, they will be traveling on Lovato’s tour setting up free, intimate sessions with Mike Bayer, founder and CEO of CAST Centers, and a wellness expert.
Each show will feature special guest speakers leading discussions on mental health awareness. Last year’s special guests who shared their stories of experience, strength and hope included Joe Jonas, Nick Jonas, music manager Phil McIntyre, Bea Miller and more. Guest speakers are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Lovato, a mental health advocate, hopes these sessions can help end the mental health stigma. She told Good Morning America, “I want to do this because one, it was such an incredible experience the last time we did this on tour,” Lovato said. “It’s a part of my whole life, about giving back and I think it’s really important that I continue to do this while I’m on tour.”
