Aquaman is welcoming a surprise star to join the film as Julie Andrews is set to voice a key role in Warner Bros.’ upcoming film, The Hollywood Reporter can confirm.
The Oscar-winning actress will voice the mythical character named Karathen, described as being a creature that holds a key that can assist in Arthur Curry’s (Jason Momoa) mission to create peace between Atlantis and dry land.
Andrews’ casting proves to be rather ironic as the DC film will be released two days after Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns, the sequel to Andrews’ 1964 film. Despite Dick Van Dyke reprising his role in the new film, Andrews will not be starring. Instead, Emily Blunt will take on the leading role of Poppins.

The role will mark Andrews’ first appearance in a film in nearly a decade. Over the years, the actress has lent her voice to animated projects such as the Despicable Me franchise and Shrek Forever After in 2010.
