About a month ago, Nghtmre and Atlanta rapper Gunna teamed up on a dark trap melody called “Cash Cow.” The laidback head knocker plays moody under Gunna’s mumble rap boasts, a real smoke-out on the beanbag kind of vibe. Nghtmre sets are anything but chill, though, so he had to cook up a VIP edit with enough bang for his bass stage affairs, and today he shares an exclusive peek at a very dubstep VIP edit designed with former DJ Khaled producer Blvk Jvck.
“Working with Gunna on ‘Cash Cow’ was really a special experience,” Nghtmre tells Billboard Dance in an emailed statement. “I always knew I wanted to make a higher energy VIP version of the track for my live shows. Blvk Jvck is insanely talented and as soon as he sent me this Idea I knew it would be perfect to work in together as a collaboration. It feels like a great blend of both our sounds.”

The song’s trap starting line was a perfect set up for Blvk Jvck, who draws upon his previous work with Khaled collaborative team The Runners to create electronic hybrid monster stompers, a style he calls “hoodstep.” This heavy, face-crunching rework picks up right where the original left off with brooding melodies and 808 beats. The mechanical stomps creep in heavier with each blow until the full-on dubstep womp assualt unleashes at the drop.
Nghtmre has been dropping this doozy in his sets as a VIP edit, but you can get your hands on it on streaming platforms Friday, Dec. 20. In the meantime, enjoy your sneak preview, exclusive below to Billboard Dance.
