You know that you are truly a rockstar when you can just walk onto a talk show without letting the host, or hostesses in this case, know you’re coming. Prince showed that he doesn’t need to make appointments — not even with Barbara Walters — when he showed up for a surprise visit on “The View” this morning (Dec. 9).
The singer appeared on the show to promote his “Welcome 2 America” concert dates at Madison Square Garden, giving each of the ladies a pair of tickets to his Dec. 18 show.

Barbara Walters couldn’t help but mention that she’d interviewed Justin Bieber recently and that the teen sensation had said he’d love to be like Prince one day — the ultimate consummate performer. Prince looked grateful for the compliment and advised Bieber that learning every aspect of music that you can is the key to longevity, and that he hopes the young star will “pick up an instrument and get a good teacher.” Prince may have missed the memo — Bieber already plays four instruments: guitar, piano, drums and a little saxophone.

Prince Rolls Out ‘Welcome 2 America’ Tour Dates

She first requested Prince declare his love for her and, after being chastised by Whoopi Goldberg for trying to take the singer’s gloves, declared that she had wanted to make love to Prince her entire life.

Probably a little TMI, Sherri. Prince couldn’t handle the heat and had to leave the stage before giving Shepherd a response, but Whoopi had his back and explained that the singer is just really shy — sure Whoopi, sure.
