Sam Smith got to show off a different side of their performing skills on Saturday (March 2), when they stomped down the runway for Paris Fashion Week.
Serving as one of the models for the Vivienne Westwood Womenswear Fall/Winter 2024-2025, Smith modeled two distinct, punk-inspired looks in the iconic fashion brand’s latest collection.
In one look, Smith was draped from tip to toe in all black, featuring a black patterned top under a long black, partially shredded coat. Finishing off the look were a pair of fingerless black gloves, a slick black bag and a black hat featuring a small veil.
Their second eye-catching ensemble saw Smith embracing one of Westwood’s favorite patterns — tartan. Over an olive-green V-neck sweater, Smith stunned in a deconstructed red tartan shawl-jacket, with a high-waisted green tartan bottoms, knee-high red tartan socks over a pair of muted, towering tartan platform heels. To finish out the look, Smith wore a green tartan headpiece and walked with a large stick.

In a post to their Instagram, the brand shared an image of all the models — including Smith — posing in their outfits after the show, with a captioned quote from 19th century author Henry James. “A tradition is kept alive only by something being added to it,” the brand wrote.
Smith also shared their gratitude via an Instagram post — calling themself “The Tailor,” as a play on their fan army’s name the Sailors, the “Unholy” singer specifically offered appreciation to the brand’s creative director Andreas Kronthaler (the late Westwood’s husband) for including them in the presentation. “Thank you Andreas for having me to walk in such a beautiful show,” they wrote.
