Metro Boomin has been anticipating Young Thug‘s release from jail, and it looks like Metro Thuggin could be making a comeback.
Earlier this week, the St. Louis producer posted a pic on his Instagram Story showing a screen of some of the things he’s working on along with a fire emoji. Fans then took a screenshot, zoomed into the image, and noticed Metro was teasing a folder of music entitled “Lil Jeff Home” that looks to be about 71 minutes worth of songs.
The two have collaborated a bunch over the years, beginning with their fan-favorite Metro Thuggin series when they were dropping and leaking loosies around 10 years ago. “The Blanguage,” “Speed Racer” and “Warrior” were some of the standouts from that time period that for whatever reason never formalized into an official project. In 2023, Thug released the tape Business Is Business from behind bars with the majority of the record being produced by Metro.
The Atlanta rapper has been busy reconnecting with old friends since coming home after almost three years in Fulton County Jail. He was recently in the studio with his mentor T.I. getting back to work. “I’m back, Jack. No cap in my rap. The right way,” he said in a video Tip posted on Instagram, with T.I. writing in the caption that his much talked about retirement might be on hold for now.
Young Thug was arrested in May 2022 on RICO charges and was at the center of the longest trial in Georgia history. Metro may be dealing with his own legal challenges as he was recently hit with a civil lawsuit alleging he sexually assaulted a woman in 2016. The producer and his lawyer denied the allegations and have said the suit is “a pure shakedown.”
