That Swae Lee is a real crowd-pleaser: he’s currently on tour with Post Malone, and their joint single “Sunflower” continues to fare well on the charts, after hitting No. 1 on the Hot 100 last January. Since his chart-topping feat, the other half of Rae Sremmurd has remained busy, releasing “Sextasy” and “Won’t Be Late” featuring Drake last August.
Despite his hectic schedule, Billboard caught up with Swae Lee over the phone recently, and he couldn’t help dropping hints on what he has coming next. Among the upcoming music is a “big stadium song,” and he has the perfect pop star in mind to serve as its guest feature.

The hip-hop artist has been notching hits under his own name after breaking through alongside his brother Slim Jxmmi in Rae Sremmurd. Although he has yet to release a proper solo album, Rae Sremmurd’s most recent release, 2018’s Sr3mm, was a triple album in which Swae got his own disc to shine.
Even though the 24-year-old wasn’t ready to play the new song for us, he said, “The song is going to be like ‘Black Beatles.’ It’s got that same vibe, like a big stadium song. It’s such a sing-along song.”
As far as when to anticipate its release, just pay attention during Swae’s Runaway Tour with Post Malone, which runs through Nov. 21. “I’m definitely trying to drop it on this tour,” he says. “I’m already going on these sold-out shows. It has people vibing to it, but I have to make sure I have it all the way touched up before I drop it. I can’t jump the gun. Whenever it releases, it’s going to be new, so I don’t have to rush it.”
That’s not the only thing Swae Lee wanted to gift fans: this month, he curated and launched an on-trend collection of clothes on ASOS, with plenty of bright neon and bold animal prints to choose from, making it easy for anyone to stand out this winter season.
Swae also guaranteed a happy holiday for his fans: He has plans to reintroduce a Christmas song, “Christmas at Swae’s,” that he released last year and will roll back out in a new way in 2019.
“I’m going to redrop my Christmas song, because I don’t know how the people didn’t get my Christmas song last year,” Swae explains. “I wrote this song that was initially for Mariah Carey. I wrote it for her, but I ended up singing it myself and I’m going to redrop it this Christmas and let everybody fall in love with it.”
