The Beatles

The Beatles – John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison – came together in 1962 and became one of the biggest bands the world has ever seen. Their debut studio album, 1963’s ‘Please Please Me,’ peaked at No. 155 on the Billboard 200, with the band eventually securing 19 No. 1 albums on the chart; they are also the musical act with most weeks at No. 1 with a total of 132 weeks. On the Hot 100, “Love Me Do” was The Beatles’ first song on the tally, reaching the summit in May 1964; they’d go on to earn 19 more No. 1s on the list. The band earned seven Grammys during the course of its career, including best new artist, best performance by a vocal group for ‘A Hard Day’s Night’ and album of the year for ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.’
