Andrea Bocelli Sets ‘Believe In Christmas’ Livestream Event
Andrea Bocelli returns with a new album and news of another special online event, just in time for Christmas.
Just months after smashing live stream records with an historic performance at Milan’s Duomo, Andrea Bocelli returns with a new album and news of another special online event.
The classical great’s Believe in Christmas ticketed livestream event will take place Dec. 12 from the Teatro Regio di Parma opera house in his homeland, Italy.
Announced Friday (Nov. 13), the one-off live performance promises to be a high-quality production, filmed from multiple cameras and helmed by creative director Franco Dragone, best known for his work with Cirque Du Soleil. Bocelli will perform in the round with special guests.
The livestream announcement accompanies the release of Bocelli’s new album Believe, a collection of songs that have inspired the opera singer.
Co-produced by Steven Mercurio and Haydn Bendall, Believe dropped at midnight and includes duets with Cecilia Bartoli and Alison Krauss, and a previously unreleased track from the late master Italian composer Ennio Morricone.

“The concept behind Believe is based on three words: faith, hope and charity,” comment Bocelli in a statement. “These are the three theological virtues of Christianity, yet – quite independently of any religious belief – they are also the three extraordinary keys to giving meaning and completeness to the lives of every one of us.”
Also appearing on the album is a new version of “Amazing Grace” featuring country star Krauss, the music video for which is out now:
Bocelli’s Easter concert at Duomo di Milano was one of the biggest musical livestream performances of all-time, especially among those starring a classical singer.
The Music For Hope video notched more than 28 million views from across the globe in its first 24 hours, and pulled in 3 million peak concurrent viewers, the largest simultaneous audience for a classical livestream in YouTube history.
Tickets for Believe in Christmas can be purchased here from Nov. 20. The special is promoted and produced by Driift, the U.K.-based livestream specialist behind events for Nick Cave, Niall Horan, Laura Marling, Dermot Kennedy, Biffy Clyro and James Bay.
