Daddy Yankee’s “Con Calma,” featuring Snow, moves 3-1 on the Latin Airplay chart dated March 16, scoring Yankee his 11th leader and Snow, his first.
The new leader arrives 13 years and three months since Yankee notched his first chart leader when “Rompe” landed in the penthouse on Dec. 10, 2005 and led the tally for 15 nonconsecutive weeks. Snow, meanwhile, scores his first No. 1 with his first chart entry. The track is a reworking of Snow’s 1993 No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hit “Informer.”
“Con Calma” advances with 15.7 million in audience impressions (a 23 percent boost) earned in the week ending March 10, according to Nielsen Music.
“Con Calma” arrives at the summit in its sixth week, the fastest sprint to the top since Ozuna and Manuel Turizo’s “Vaina Loca” also took six weeks last October.
Over on the Latin Rhythm Airplay chart, “Con Calma” dethrones Manuel Turizo’s one-week reign with “Sola,” with a 3-1 jump, securing Yankee his 19th No. 1 on the tally. He continues to hold the record for the most leaders since the chart’s inception in Aug. 2005.
Limi-T 21 Rises: Meanwhile, merengue trio Limi-T 21 notch their first top 10 in over a year on the Tropical Songs airplay chart as “No Vale La Pena Sufrir,” the fourth single of the group’s upcoming album, lifts 12-10.
“No Vale” rises with a 40 percent gain in audience (to 1 million impressions), earning the Puerto Rican act their 17th top 10 on the list. The group scored their last top 10 in Oct. 2016, when “Alegría Pa’l Pueblo,” featuring Tito El Bambino, peaked at No. 4.
Conjunto Primavera’s 28th Top 10: Over on the Regional Mexican Songs airplay chart, norteño act Conjunto Primavera clocks its 28th top 10 as “Cariño a Medias” bumps 11-10.
“Cariño” moves thanks to a 16 percent increase in audience (to 4 million), earning the Tony Melendez-led sextet their first top 10 in over two years. “Un Desengaño,” featuring Ricky Muñoz of Intocable reached No. 8 in Aug. 2015.
The new song is the current single off their upcoming 44th album. With the song’s move Conjunto Primavera now stands alone with the fifth-most top 10 record, trailing Los Tigres del Norte, who lead with 43 top 10s, Intocable (41), Banda El Recodo de Cruz Lizárraga (37), and Los Tucanes de Tijuana (33). (Conjunto was previously tied for fifth place with Marco Antonio Solis.)
