After earning EXO their first No. 1 on Billboard‘s World Digital Songs with “Monster” earlier this year, the boy band’s Ex’act album continues its exciting run as the lead single from the record’s new repackage also tops the chart.
“Lotto,” the latest from the nine-member outfit, debuts at No. 1 on World Digital Songs chart marking the second chart-topper for the act. The track sold 8,000 downloads in America last week — a sizable increase from the first week sales of “Monster,” that moved 6,000 downloads in its first charting week.
Produced by British duo LDN Noise — who also produced EXO’s most recent singles “Monster” and “Lucky One” — “Lotto” is yet another dive into a slightly darker pop sound that the group has toyed with in their most recent releases. The percolating synth beats, hip-hop chants and trappy percussion give an aggressive feel for the track, only enhanced by the heavy AutoTune added to the band’s vocals.
The accompanying video enhances the bold concept with the band members showing off high-powered choreography amid scenes of them gambling, watching cock fights, burning piles of money, and other risk-driven activities before they and a female co-star are taken down by a S.W.A.T. team.

To date, only seven K-pop acts have hit the top spot on World Digital Songs and with two No. 1s to their name, EXO now boast the third-most chart-toppers among Korean acts. The outfit trail only PSY (who has four No. 1s on the chart) and BIGBANG (with three). Meanwhile, 2NE1, BTS, CL, Blackpink plus G-Dragon and Taeyang all have one.
