Giorgio Moroder Announces First Live Tour at 78: ‘The Time Feels Right’

Giorgio Moroder announced on Wednesday (Oct. 10) that he is embarking on his first-ever live tour.

Proving it’s really never too late, 78-year-old legendary producer Giorgio Moroder announced on Wednesday (Oct. 10) that he is embarking on his first-ever live tour.

“I’m excited to be finally doing this,” Moroder told The Guardian. “It is something I have always wanted to do. Fans kept reaching out to me, asking if I would ever do a real tour. Back in the day, it was unthinkable for producers to ever leave their studios — that territory was reserved for the singers. Today, DJs and music producers have become the superstars of popular dance music, so the time feels right,” he added.

So far, the producer has confirmed a run of European dates starting in April 2019. The show will feature the artist performing on the piano, vocoder and synths alongside a full live band and vocalists. Tickets will go on sale on Friday (Oct. 12) at 9:00 a.m via Live Nation.
