‘Jersey Boys,’ Frankie Valli Surge On Billboard 200

All things "Jersey Boys" are red-hot, as two titles featuring the legendary sound storm the chart, with Valli and the 4 Seasons scoring their highest rank in decades.

The stage musical about Frankie Valli and the 4 Seasons and its recently-released film adaptation stir sales gains on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Re-entering is the original Broadway cast recording of the show, while a greatest-hits album from the Valli and the 4 Seasons arrives in the top 50, marking each act’s highest chart position in decades.

The movie version of the long-running Broadway show bowed June 20. Clint Eastwood directed the film, which finished as the No. 4 highest-grossing movie over the June 20-22 weekend in the U.S. and Canada, earning $13 million.
