Kendrick Lamar‘s new song “The Heart Part 4,” was released at 11 p.m. ET on Thursday (March 23), just hours after a cryptic Instagram post that sent the internet into a frenzy, and the track hit No. 1 on the Billboard + Twitter Trending 140 chart shortly after (around 1 a.m. ET), where it remains (as of 1 p.m. ET).
The release is reportedly the first preview of Lamar’s forthcoming studio album. His last two Billboard 200 chart entries debuted atop the list: surprise release Untitled Unmastered. (March 26, 2016) and To Pimp a Butterfly, (April 4, 2015).

Fans have been eagerly awaiting new music from Lamar and have taken to Twitter to express responses to the song’s drop. Although the “Heart” lyrics are vague, he seems to take a dig at other rappers; listeners are speculating that the track alludes to Big Sean and Drake (whose newest album, More Life, is projected to debut at No. 1 on next week’s Billboard 200).
