Little Mix secure a second week atop the U.K. album chart with Glory Days (Syco Music/Sony), while Clean Bandit‘s “Rockabye” (Atlantic/Warner), featuring Sean Paul and Anne-Marie, is the No. 1 single for a fourth week.
Glory Days adds a second-week total of combined units of 57,000 to its opening 96,000, going gold in the process. But it only narrowly kept its crown, finishing 2,000 units ahead of Michael Ball and Alfie Boe’s Together (Decca/Universal), which rebounds 4-2 in its fourth week in the top five.
Kate Bush‘s Before The Dawn (Noble & Brite/Warner), recorded live at her sellout London shows of 2014, debuts at No. 4, after topping the early-week sales flashes. The Weeknd‘s Starboy (XO/Republic/Universal) is new at No. 5. There are also top ten starts for Dutch violinist-composer André Rieu’s Falling In Love (Decca/Universal), with his Johann Strauss Orchestra, at No. 7, and TV personality Bradley Walsh at No. 10 with Chasing Dreams (Sony) at No. 10.
Weekly sales of 82,500 for the Clean Bandit single give it a fourth week at the summit, to tie the reign of their previous chart-topper “Rather Be.” “Black Beatles” (Interscope/ Universal) by hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd featuring Gucci Mane holds at No. 2, while The Weeknd’s “Starboy,” featuring Daft Punk, jumps back 8-3. All 18 songs from the album of the same name land inside the top 100, with five more in the top 40, including “I Feel It Coming,” which climbs 18-9.
The early leader in the U.K.’s traditional Christmas single upswing is a familiar one. Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” (Sony), first a hit in 1995 when it reached No. 2, jumps 72-29 to become a top 40 hit for the tenth year in a row.
