Maroon 5’s New Single ‘Cold’ Hits No. 1 on the Billboard + Twitter Trending 140 Chart
The pop band's latest single, "Cold," featuring Future, takes the lead on the chart.
Maroon 5 debuted its newest single, “Cold,” late Monday night (Feb. 13), giving us another preview of the band’s upcoming sixth album. The song reached the top spot of the Billboard + Twitter Trending 140 chart at 7 a.m. ET on Tuesday (Feb. 14). Like the group’s last single, “Don’t Wanna Know” (featuring Kendrick Lamar, which was the last Maroon 5 song to lead the chart), Maroon 5 has chosen to have another rapper guesting on their new track: Future takes the rap break on “Cold.”
The Billboard + Twitter Trending 140 chart measures the real-time acceleration of conversation around artists and their music on Twitter.
“Cold’s” music video is set to be released tomorrow (Feb. 15), and the band will perform the song live on The Ellen DeGeneres Show the same day.
“Cold” should debut on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart dated March 4, granting Maroon 5 its 26th chart entry. “Don’t Wanna Know” recently peaked at No. 6 on the tally — the act’s 12th top 10-charting tune.
