Almost three months after his first appearance atop the Hot Latin Songs chart with his No. 1 hit “Bebe” featuring Anuel AA, 6ix9ine returns to the top 10 as the team’s second collab “Mala” glides 11-7 on the chart dated Dec. 15.
“Mala” ascends mainly on the strength of streaming activity, earning 6.8 million U.S. clicks (37 percent gain) in the week ending Dec. 6, according to Nielsen Music.
Notably, the song debuted on the tally at No. 11 (dated Dec. 8) supported only by three days of streaming and sales activity (earned 5 million clicks, and 1,000 sales in the week ending Nov. 29), following the release of its parent album Dummy Boy on Nov. 27.
The lift earns 6ix9ine his second top 10, while it’s the fifth for Anuel.
Anuel now claims four concurrent songs in the tally’s top 10: “Ella Quiere Beber” with Romeo Santos at No. 5, “Bebe” at No. 6, “Mala” at No. 7, and “Asesina” with Brytiago, Darell, Daddy Yankee, and Ozuna at No. 9.
Anuel is just the fifth act to have tallied four concurrently charting songs in the top 10. He joins Ozuna (who has achieved the feat 14 times — all in 2018), Joan Sebastian, Romeo Santos and Wisin & Yandel.
No act has placed more than four concurrent songs in the top 10.
Banda El Recodo’s 37 Top 10s: Over on the Regional Mexican Songs airplay chart, Banda El Recodo de Cruz de Lizárraga earns its first top 10 in over a year. “Gracias Por Tu Amor” featuring David Bisbal ascends 14-8 with a 29 percent boost in audience impressions (to 5.3 million) in the week ending Dec. 9.
The band continue to have the third-most top 10s on the list, upping their career count to 37. They only trail Los Tigres del Norte, with 43, and Intocable, with 41.
Banda El Recodo’s new top 10 comes a year after they last logged their 53rd charted title with “Ayer y Hoy,” a No. 5 peak (Oct. 2017).
Thalia & Gente de Zona Move: Elsewhere on the Latin airplay charts, Thalia returns to the Tropical Songs airplay after almost four years with “Lento” with Gente de Zona, claiming her 11th top 10 on the list.
The song ascends 13-9 thanks to 95 percent gain in audience (to 1.5 million).
For Gente de Zona, who has two hits on the chart (“Hazle Completo El Cuento” with El Micha ranks at No. 23), the move earns them their 15th top 10.
